Detailed Safari Itinerary of the 18 Days Uganda Kenya Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari

Day 1 of the 18 Days Uganda Kenya Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari: Arrival in Uganda – Entebbe International Airport & drive to the hotel   

Arrive at Uganda’s main gateway Entebbe International Airport where you will be picked up by our representative to transfer to the Hotel.

Day 2 of the 18 Days Uganda Kenya Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari:  Drive to Kibale National Park / Fort Portal Area, tour the Amabere g’ Nyinamwiru caves & hike the Fort Portal Crater field                         

Breakfast at your place of stay in Kampala, depart at 6:30am for the transfer to Fort Portal Area to the west of Uganda 300km about 5 hours’ drive. The drive offers good views of rural landscapes, en route towns, inselbergs of Mubende, swamps and forests both natural and plantation.  Hot lunch in Fort Portal after which you undertake a heritage tour to Amabere g’ Nnyinamwiru caves believed traditionally to be breasts of Nnyinamwiru the daughter of Bukuku – a self-enthroned King of the Bachwezi who is noted to have denied his daughter a chance of breast feeding her Son in fear that he would take over his throne. From the caves, set off on the hike to Fort Portal Crater lake field – one of the four explosion craters in Uganda for amazing sightseeing experience. Settle for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 3 of the 18 Days Uganda Kenya Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari: Do Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest & drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Briefing for Chimpanzee trekking at Kanyanchu tourism center starts at 8am after which you head to the tropical forest of Kibale in search of Chimpanzees – man’s closest relative in terms of DNA. While following the designated trail, you enjoy incredible views of trees some of which are very tall and huge, flowering plants, birds (the forest has 375 bird species) and a range of primates including the Black and White Colobus, Red tailed monkey, vervet monkey, Baboon among others. Upon reaching Chimps, you spend one full hour with them as they forage, roll themselves on tree branches, patrol, make pant hooting calls, mate among other exciting behaviours. From the 2 – 5-hour activity, you transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park 157km approximately 3 hours’ drive gaining incredible views of Rwenzori Mountains en route.

Day 4 of the 18 Days Uganda Kenya Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari: Extensive game drive in Kasenyi sector, Kazinga Channel boat safari & evening game drive along the channel track  

Settle for breakfast before setting off for game drive at 7am.  Kasenyi sector is the main area of interest and offers good possibilities of spotting Lions, Elephants, Leopard, Topi, Uganda Kobs, Warthogs, spotted hyenas, Buffaloes among others. The game drive lasts 3 – 4 hours after which you drive to Mweya peninsular for hot lunch.    You will sign up for the 2pm Kazinga Channel boat cruise for a two-hour experience along this amazing natural channel with possibilities of viewing Nile Crocodiles, Hippos, birds on the shores like Saddle billed stork, African skimmers and many more not forgetting the wild game. Upon return from the boat, you do a game drive along the channel track as you head back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 5 of the 18 Days Uganda Kenya Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari:  Game drive in Ishasha sector searching for tree climbing lions & then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park  

Enjoy breakfast at 7am and set off for the transfer towards south to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park 218km to Ruhija and 160km to Buhoma. Ishasha sector game drive will be made searching for tree climbing lions & other wild game. Proceed on the drive to Bwindi for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 6 of the 18 Days Uganda Kenya Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari: Mountain Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park & transfer to Kigali

Embark on the Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park gathering at the assembly point for the respective headquarters at 7:30am for briefing and eventual start of the Gorilla trek.  Bwindi is marked with steep slopes and narrow valleys all covered with dense vegetation that has earned it the name – Impenetrable. During the gorilla trek, you explore these amazing landscapes before coming across the Mountain Gorillas noted to be critically endangered world over as they forage, play among other behaviors for a period of one hour. The gorilla trek lasts 2 – 8 hours. From the activity, you transfer to Kigali Rwanda enjoying the sights of Kigezi Highlands famously known as the Switzerland of Africa and Rwandan hillsides.

Day 7 of the 18 Days Uganda Kenya Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari: Fly from Kigali International Airport to Nairobi & transfer to the Hotel

Meet and greet at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by our driver guide. After a brief introduction transfer to the hotel

Day 8 of the 18 Days Uganda Kenya Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari:  Morning at leisure, Lunch at Carnivore restaurant – game meat & barbeque, visit Giraffe Centre & Sheldrick orphanage at 5pm for fostering.

Breakfast and spend the early morning at leisure. At noon depart for Carnivore restaurant to experience game meat and barbecue meat. Then visit the Giraffe center where you will have a chance to feed the giraffes. Visit to elephant sheldrick orphanage will be organized at 5 PM

Day 9 of the 18 Days Uganda Kenya Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari:  Nairobi – Ol Pajeta

Morning breakfast and depart for Ol Pajeta private conservancy. Enjoy a leisurely drive as you pass via the tea, coffee, sisal and pineapple plantation arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon visit the Chimpanzees sanctuary. Game drives in search of the wildlife.

Day 10 of the 18 Days Uganda Kenya Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari: Mount Kenya – Nanyuki Airstrip – Maasai Mara
After morning breakfast transfer to Nanyuki airstrip for your scheduled flight to Maasai Mara (1030 – 1130 hrs). Arrive in Maasai Mara where our guide will have been waiting for your arrival and transfer to the tented camp for hot lunch. Afternoon game drives in search of the wildlife

Day 11 & 12 of the 18 Days Uganda Kenya Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari: Maasai Mara Exploration

Wake up very early in the morning at 4 am on Day 11 and transfer to balloon launching site. You will have 1 hr balloon ride and Champaign breakfast upon landing. After a sumptuous breakfast proceed with your game drives.

On Day 12, Morning breakfast and depart with picnic lunch for a full day game drives to the Mara River where hippos and crocodiles reside

Maasai mara is a vast area of grassy plains converging by the meandering Mara river. It is an African Gem and an area rich in culture, tradition, beauty and home to the big five.

It is here that one of the most spectacular phenomena of natural world take place – The great annual wildebeests migration, an occurrence that has been named as one of the seven wonders of the world by a jury of experts polled by ABC TV of the USA.

The great migration involves an estimated 1.3 million wildebeests, 200,000 zebras and a multitude of gazelles escorted by a good number of carnivores.

You might witness this part of the action which takes place between July and October.

 Day 13 of the 18 Days Uganda Kenya Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari: Maasai Mara – naboisho Private Conservancy

Morning breakfast and depart for a final game drives as you head to the Naboisho conservancy. The lodge vehicle will pick you up at the gate and proceed to Encounter Mara for lunch.

Afternoon game drives.

Day 14 of the 18 Days Uganda Kenya Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari: Naboisho Conservancy – Isebania – Serengeti North

After breakfast depart at 0700 hrs with picnic lunch for Isebania (Kenya-Tanzania Border)

Clear with immigration officials, change of vehicles and proceed to Serengeti National Park. Game drives en route to the lodge.

Day 15 of the 18 Days Uganda Kenya Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari:  Serengeti North – Serengeti Central

Morning breakfast and depart with picnic lunch for a full day game drive.

Late afternoon, depart the Northern side and head to the central part of serengeti.

Day 16 of the 18 Days Uganda Kenya Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari:   Central Serengeti

Full day game drives. Serengeti covers an area of 14,763 sq km and is a contiguous of the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya. Serengeti is the largest National Park in Tanzania and also the most famous National Park in Tanzania. It’s most famous because of the annual migration of wildebeest’s herds in search of better grazing. Serengeti is also famous for its lions, cheetahs, large herds of Zebras, herds of giraffes, Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles, elands, impalas, warthogs, and also rich in bird life

Day 17 of the 18 Days Uganda Kenya Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari:  Final game drive in Serengeti & transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast depart with picnic lunch for a Half day game drives to the vast plains of Serengeti. Early Afternoon depart for Ngorongoro Conservation area.

Day 18 of the 18 Days Uganda Kenya Tanzania Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari:   Ngorongoro Crater Exploration & transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport 

After breakfast depart with picnic lunch for a half day crater tour. Descend down the crater rim.

The Ngorongoro Crater is just one part of a larger area of interrelated ecosystems consisting of the crater highlands (to which the Ngorongoro Crater belongs) together with larger stretches of plains bush and woodland. Ngorongoro conservation area covers an area of about 8300 sq km. Near its Centre is the Olduvai Gorge where many fossils have been earthed. Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s best-known wildlife – viewing areas.  The crater is about 20kms wide and it is one of the largest calderas in the world. Within its walls is a variety of animals and vegetation,
including grasslands, swamps, forests, salt pans, a fresh water lake and rich wildlife. The wildlife found includes lions, elephants, buffaloes, wildebeests, Thomson’s gazelles, zebra reed bucks.

Picnic lunch will be served at the picnic site. Afternoon ascend the crater and drive to Kilimanjaro International Airport for an onward flight.
